The person behind this venture is Prachi Rahalkar, a Chartered Accountant by profession and an art enthusiast at heart. After a career as a CA spanning almost 14 years, Prachi had had enough of crunching numbers, interpreting laws and meeting never-ending deadlines. Her first love had been beckoning for some time, and she finally took the plunge – she decided to make her primary passion her new career. Towards this end, The Happy Me was set up in October 2018, starting off as a small home-based venture. We held our inaugural solo exhibition in Pune a few months later, and the response and love we got at that event served as a huge morale-booster. Post that event, we have participated in a few other events, including an event focused on kids-art at a well-known Indian IT MNC. The experience gained from these events served both to be greatly motivating as well as significantly enriching from a learning perspective, helping build warm relationships driven by shared love for creativity while also giving an insight into customer preferences.
We had many exciting events lined up this year, but then a bat somewhere in China decided the world could do with a little social distancing, resulting in an enforced break from face-to-face interactions with our clientele. However, business models need to change with time and be responsive to the prevailing conditions. While the lockdown meant we took a short sabbatical, it also gave us the time and space to come up with an alternative mode of interacting with all our patrons. And so, here we are, back in the field, with this online store of ours. While we recognize a face-to-face interaction can never be replaced, we are still just a phone call or email away – so please feel free to reach out for any specific queries or requests you may have.
